High School Chapter 2

"You see I was walking to the school this morning and..."

"Oh stop lying! We know you were reading that new book that just came out!" Everyone but Hinata yelled.

"Shall we begin then?" The teacher asked as he say Hinata. "Oh, you must be the new student. I'm Mr. Hatake, but you can just call me Kakashi like the rest of the class.

"It's nice to meet you." Hinata replied.

"Now I received news that you would be here so I asked for your musical info and was pleased to see that you are a singer. So I'll be placing you with Naruto's group." Kakashi said as he pointed to the mic near Naruto.

"You didn't tell me you were a singer." Naruto said as Hinata reached the mic.

"You never asked." Hinata said with a smile.

"You have a point."

"Now, here is a new song for each group." Kakashi said as he handed the song copies to each group. "But remember that only the best player will be put into the performing band. So Sasuke has to fight to keep his spot as the lead singer but don't worry you all have three weeks to submit a performance to the band managers."

"I'm not too worried" Sasuke said as he looked at the song. "Indestructible by Disturbed. One of my favorites. I already memorized the sound patterns of the singer's voice."

"Only because of his sharingan." Naruto whispered to Gaara who nodded.

Just then Hinata turned to face Naruto.

"What does he mean the performing band?"

"Oh, the best players or singer get to perform in Free Life. So far this year it's been me, Kankuro, Gaara and Sasuke. Last year it was only Shikamaru, Choji, Sasuke, and me."

"Oh, so Free Life is the school band." Hinata said as Naruto finished.

"Yep, now what song did we get?" Naruto asked as he took the paper from Kakashi.

"Bring Me To Life by Evanescence. I don't know this one." Naruto said as he passed out the copies.

"I do. I have it on my mp3 if you want to hear it before we try it." Hinata said after she saw the faces on the others.

"That would be great, just ask Kakashi if we can go into the sound room and we'll play using the speakers." Shikamaru said as he read over the bass notes.

Hinata walked over to Kakashi and asked him if it was ok to go into the sound room to play the song.

"That's just fine. Just don't break anything." Kakashi said as he handed her the keys.

Hinata told the group and they all walked to the door in the back of the class. Hinata grabbed the keys and unlocked the door. Once inside Naruto hooked up Hinata's mp3 to the speakers before turning around.

"Ok, ready guys?" Naruto asked receiving nods for the others.

Naruto hit play and the song started. The room being built to keep the sound in inside allowed them to listen to every note of the song. After listening to it three times the group left the sound room and went to get the notes for each part.

"Ok, now that we know what it sounds like and we have our parts. Do you guys want to go home and practice and then try playing it tomorrow?" Shikamaru asked.

"I think that would probably be the best thing to do at this point since the only one that knows the song is the new singer." Gaara said as he looked over his part.

"Is that ok with you Hinata?" Naruto asked.

"Yeah that's fine." Hinata replied.

"Ok then. We'll practice tonight at home and try it out tomorrow." Naruto said and he looked at the others.

"I do have one question though." Hinata said as she stepped forward.

"Ok, what is it?" The group replied.

"What is the deal with the teacher? When he walked everyone yelled at him." Hinata said.

"Oh that. He is always late, usually because he reads that perverted book series." Naruto answered.

"Oh, I see why everyone yelled at him."

"Yeah if he rubs the back of his head and closes his eyes he was reading a book, other than that he's telling the truth." Shikamaru added.

"Good to know." Hinata said as the group started walking back to the music room.

As the group reached the door, they could hear the other group.

"Take a last look around while you're aaaalive! I'm an indestructible! Master of WAAAAAR!"

"They really got that song down." Naruto said as he opened the door.

As Naruto and the others walked in Sasuke and his group stopped playing.

"How'd it go guys?" Choji asked.

"Great, we'll have it down in no time." Naruto said.

"Oh cool." Choji said just as the bell rang.
